About Us
Jabula was founded in 2003 by Kate Jackson and Stony, and later incorporated in 2006. Stony pushed Kate to take training outside the box. While Stony was a goofy, handsome and sweet boy, he had his challenges. He was not a fan of most dogs, cats and strangers. Kate consistently found the training approaches used as rigid and challenging to implement in everyday life and despite raising a puppy by the "Good Dog" text book, he still had some serious issues. Stony helped us to evolve and find solutions in a unique manner. Jabula believes in meeting your dog on various levels, it's not just about obedience, you have to account for genetics and environmental factors. We look at physical & mental outlets and how to integrate them in your daily life. To know your dog's weaknesses enables you to set them up for success. There is no single recipe that works for every dog, it's about finding what works for each individual dog and their family.
