Winston aka Stony is a 6 year old Yellow Labrador Retriever male. He is the owner of Kate Jackson, owner, founder and trainer at Jabula Dog Academy. Stony prides himself in his advanced vocabulary and extensive knowledge that makes him the poster child for Jabula! His knowledge base and activities consist of Dock Jumping, Flyball Racing, Rally Obedience, Protection training and Bite Work, Water Retrievals, Directional training to hand signals and Off Leash reliability in all environments. Stony has a troubled past, and at 2 years old his human, Kate Jackson, was recommended by Veterinarians and Canine Behaviorists to Euthanize him due to his advanced dog and human aggression. Thankfully he was already an established member of the family and Kate took his aggression as a challenge and dedicated the subsequent years to managing and redirecting his aggression. Today Stony is not only Jabula’s poster child by participating in all Jabula’s demonstrations and Fund Raising events, but he brings joy & laughter to the lives of many people in his monthly Assisted Living visits and many Children’s Birthday parties demonstrating his many tricks. Stony competes in Rally Obedience and scored a 100% perfect score and First place in his very first competition. Stonys’ troubled past has also shaped the direction of Jabula Dog Academy’s focus and expertise. Both Kate and Gill had chosen to dedicate their lives to helping dogs and their owners manage and redirect aggression to help them become safe and respectable members of society.
